Rhode Island Officer Accidentally Shoots Himself in the Leg

An officer with the South Kingstown (RI) Police Department reportedly shot himself in the leg during a training exercise on Wednesday.
According to NBC News, the officer sustained only minor injuries from the incident.
The officer was transported to a nearby hospital where he was subsequently treated and released.
The agency has not released the name of the officer or any other details related to the incident.
