State Sen. Peggy Lehner, who chairs the Senate Education Committee and is a nonvoting member of the Ohio Board of Regents, said she was "horrified" by the numbers.
The Ohio State University Police Department paid out $1 million in overtime pay out of a $4.9 million total payroll.
