Proposed New Hampshire Law Would Limit Police Use of Deadly Force

Police across New Hampshire are voicing their disapproval of a piece of proposed legislation that would revoke the legal authority law enforcement officers have to use deadly force during an arrest.

Supporters of the proposed law in the Granite State said they are not trying to tie the hands of police officers but police chiefs said if the bill becomes law, officers will be put in danger.

"It will make it much more difficult, if not impossible, for us to effect our jobs in certain situations," Chief David Goldstein, of the Franklin Police Department, said.

According to WMUR-TV , the House Criminal Justice Committee is expected to vote on the bill later this month.
