The San Diego City Council voted 6-2 Tuesday in favor of a resolution to support proposed state legislation that would put in place more stringent accountability rules and oversight of police use of force in California.

According to Fox News , if Assembly Bill 392 is signed into law, officers would be held liable for homicide if an investigation finds they acted with criminal negligence or if their use of deadly force on a civilian was necessitated by the officer’s own actions.
