The Phoenix Suns "Rise Together" Charities on Tuesday donated a half million dollars to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to help the agency in rehabilitation of inmates through caring for abused animals.

The agency posted on Facebook, "Today, the Phoenix Suns presented us with a generous donation in the amount of $500,000 that will go towards the construction of our new MASH facility. This new facility, which will be housed at the Durango Jail, will not only help our animals prosper in a safer, more adequate space, but will also continue to support the rehabilitation of our inmates.

The post concluded, "Thank you Phoenix Suns for your kind donation and helping us make this project paw-sible and thank you to Councilwoman Thelda Williams for being an advocate for our animals."
