Philippines Officer Killed by Rooster at Scene of Illegal Cockfight

A police officer in the Philippines was killed this week after a fighting rooster slashed him during a raid on an illegal cockfighting operation.

According to CNN , Officer Christian Bolok was among several officers who raided the residence where the illegal activity had been reported.

Officer Bolok attempted to pick up one of the birds without noticing that it had blades attached to its claws and legs.

He was wounded in his femoral artery on the left leg and later died.

The officer was a 13-year veteran of the force and a father of three.
