Officer Corona was shot and killed in
January 2019 while responding to a crash

The shooter was not involved in the crash. Davis police say the gunman approached Officer Corona on a bicycle as the 22-year-old rookie was investigating the three-car traffic collision and opened fire in an unprovoked ambush attack.
He was later found dead of apparent suicide.
