The police and fire unions in Scranton, Pa., promised a federal lawsuit challenging the mayor's decision to pay them the federal minimum wage as a budget-balancing tactic.
The unions, which include the Fraternal Order of Police E.B. Jermyn Lodge 2, seek to overturn Mayor Chris Doherty's move to pay officers and firefighters $7.25 per hour in their Friday paychecks even though a judge ordered full wages.
