Oregon Officers Shoot, Kill Man Firing Rifle at Neighbor's Home

Police shot and killed a 77-year-old man who was allegedly firing a rifle at his neighbor's home in The Dalles, OR, on Saturday night, officials said.

Officers were called out just before 10 p.m. on reports of gunfire. They reportedly arrived to find a man, later identified as James Young, 77, firing rounds from a rifle from his porch.

At some point, an officer shot Young. Other first-responders started first aid, however, Young died of his injuries, KATU reports.
