Two Oklahoma City police officers are recovering after being shot by a man during a traffic stop.
Just before 11 p.m. on Monday, Sgt. Jason Burgess stopped a vehicle near N.W. 12th St. and Rockwell Ave. Burgess walked up to the car and spoke with the three people inside the vehicle.
After running their information, Burgess learned the driver, 24-year-old Renarbrey Jones, and one of the passengers, 32-year-old Roger Gurley, Jr., had outstanding warrants, KFOR.com reports.
Burgess called for backup and other officers arrived. As Jones was being handcuffed, officers say 24-year-old Lincoln Price got out of the car, pulled out a semi-automatic weapon and began shooting at police.
Burgess was shot in the leg and another officer, Sgt. Jonathan Davis, suffered a hand and finger injury.
Officers returned fire and killed Price.
