Ohio Police Captain Dies After Fight with Cancer

An officer with the North Ridgeville (OH) Police Department has died after a "short fight with cancer," the agency said on social media on Wednesday afternoon.

The department said on Facebook , "Last night we lost another good one. Capt. Marti Garrow, unit #35, lost his short fight with cancer."

The post continued, "It doesn't quite seem real. Marti was always bigger than life and a true icon here."

Garrow had served with the department since 1989. He is survived by his wife and four sons.
