Ohio Officer Reportedly Fired After Charging Chief, Mayor with Forgery

Charles “Brad” Mick — a sergeant with the New Holland (OH) Police Department — was reportedly fired "mere moments after he handed Mayor Clair Betzko and Interim Police Chief David Conrad court summonses accusing them of a forgery scheme," according to the New York Post .

Sergeant Mick reportedly suspected that there was evidence to suggest that Chief Conrad had forged the signature of the previous police chief — William Lawless — on a form changing his police status.

Mick alleges that Lawless was not even in the state of Ohio on the date the form was signed.

Following being fired, Mick reportedly marched into a village council meeting and announced, " Folks, just to let you know, when you do the right thing around here you get terminated for it."

Mick told the Columbus Dispatch that he will file for whistleblower protection.
