A Preble County, Ohio, Sheriff’ deputy was killed Monday morning in a head-on crash that also killed the driver of the other vehicle.

Deputy Josh Hamilton of the Preble County (Ohio) Sheriff's Office was killed Monday in a head-on crash.

Deputy Josh Hamilton, 34, was traveling southbound on State Route 503 in a marked 2018 Ford Explorer while Michael Gayheart, 36, was traveling northbound. Their vehicles collided in a head-on crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 4 a.m.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, WHIO reports.
