Ohio Department Starts Fundraising Campaign to Acquire New K-9

The Richmond Heights (OH) Police Department—which has been without a K-9 since 2013—has launched a fundraising campaign aimed at garnering the requisite $60,000 necessary to acquire, train, and keep a new dog.

The Richmond Heights (OH) Police Department—which has been without a K-9 since 2013—has launched a fundraising campaign aimed at garnering the requisite $60,000 necessary to acquire, train, and keep a new dog.

According to ABC News , the agency aims to use the dog for drug searches, search and rescue operations, as well as community policing events.

So far, residents and businesses have donated about $4,000.

Donations have come in from as far away as South Carolina.
