Ohio Chief Screens Dayton Shooter's Family from Press

Doug Doherty has been the police chief in Bellbrook, OH, a small town southeast of Dayton, since 2014. He's been a police officer for decades. Nothing could have prepared him for what has happened in his town of 7,000 souls since the Dayton mass shooting.
About 42 hours before he stood at a podium and addressed the press Monday, a 24-year-old Bellbrook man shot and killed nine people. That man, Connor Betts, was killed by police in the attack.
One of the first to die in the attack was Connor Betts' sister, Megan Betts, a 22-year-old student at Wright State University.
Chief Doherty got to the Betts' home at 8 a.m. Sunday; officers from his department had already been there for hours, Cincinnati.com reports.
