During a traffic stop, an officer with the Susquehanna Township (PA) Police Department learned that the 9-year-old boy in the back seat was celebrating his birthday.
According to PennLive.com , Corporal AJ Somma had stopped the vehicle for driving with its lights off, and after determining that the lights were functional, gave the boy a fist bump and asked him if he'd like the officer to sing happy birthday.
Somma said that he saw the exchange as a way to have a positive effect on that family, adding, "I know if I impact them positively, they’re gonna tell someone."
