Off-duty Philadelphia Police Officer Fred Attakora was wounded and a 23-year-old man was killed when gunfire tore into an Independence Day party in Southwest Philadelphia.
Both victims — Officer Attakora and a man named Michael Boateng were quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Attakora is reportedly recovering. Boateng has been declared dead.
