Off-Duty Mass. Detective Helps Revive Overdose Victim

An off-duty Cape Cod, Mass., police detective quickly performed CPR on a woman who had overdosed on heroin, which helped save her life.

Barnstable Police Detective Richard Morse was waiting on a sidewalk holding a cup of coffee when a car pulled up in front of him and a woman threw open the driver's side door screaming for help, reports The Cape Code Times .

Morse pulled out the passenger and laid her on her back. As he began performing CPR, an off-duty nurse helped the detective revive the woman.
