Off-Duty Maryland Officer Shoots Home Invasion Suspect

A man was shot Sunday afternoon while trying to break into the home of an off-duty police officer for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), according to Prince George’s County police.

The man, who was shot in the arm, is expected to be OK, WTOP TV reports.

According to WSSC, the officer has been with the utility for about a year and had served as a police officer for the University of Maryland, Baltimore for 20 years.
