An off-duty Orange County (Fla.) Sheriff's deputy was arrested Monday and relieved of duty for fleeing from a colleague who attempted to pull him over.

An off-duty Orange County (Fla.) Sheriff's deputy was arrested Monday and relieved of duty for fleeing from a colleague who attempted to pull him over.

Deputy Aaron Larkin, 27, was driving his girlfriend's silver Infiniti without a seatbelt and with an expired tag. Larkin told deputies he had hoped to avoid contact with officers, reports the Orlando Sentinel .

Larkin initially lied to deputies, saying he had not been driving the car, but later changed his story. He was arrested at his girlfriend's apartment later on Sunday.
