Off-Duty California Officer Accidentally Shoots Himself in Leg

An off-duty officer with the Bear Valley (CA) Police Department accidentally shot himself in the leg at a golf course on New Year's Eve.

According to ABC News , officers were called to the Oak Tree Country Club on Tuesday night and upon arrival discovered the off-duty officer with a gunshot wound to the leg that the department described as non-life threatening.

Officers with the Stallion Springs Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office also responded.

The Sheriff's Office is continuing to look into the matter.
