NYPD Reports More Than 1,000 Officers Testing Positive for COVID-19

More than 1,000 officers with the New York Police Department have reportedly contracted Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

According to CNBC News , roughly 6,100 uniformed officers called in as being sick earlier this week. The sudden labor shortage occurs as 911 calls for service continue to rise in New York City.

Coronavirus has reportedly infected 43,119 people in New York City and killed at least 1,096 people there, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
