NYPD Officer Richard Haste said today he had "no choice" but to fire the single bullet that killed Ramarley Graham in his Bronx home, reports the New York Times .
In a statement read by his attorney in court, Officer Haste said, "I thought he was going to kill me. So I shot him."
Officer Haste, 31, was released after posting $50,000 bail.
