N.Y. Officer Brutality Case Opens With Vivid Testimony

A Brooklyn man who has accused three officers of assaulting him in a subway station gave his testimony in court today of the incident, the New York Times reports.

In graphic testimony, Michael Mineo described a scene from October 2008 in which he says Officer Richard Kern repeatedly rammed a retractable baton between his buttocks.

Kern and two other officers questioned Mineo when they saw him walking down the street smoking marijuana. Mineo led the officers on a foot pursuit into the Prospect Park subway station.
