NY Cop Killer Gets Life for Trooper's Murder

Cop killer Justin Walters will spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of a New York State Police Trooper and his own wife.

Two consecutive life-without-parole sentences were handed down in Jefferson County Court Tuesday afternoon for the murders of his wife, Nichole Walters, and state Trooper Joel Davis at the Walters' home in July 2017.

Testimony at trial revealed Walters shot his wife 13 times and then shot and killed Davis, who was the first officer on the scene in response to a domestic violence call, WWNY reports.
