North Carolina Highway Patrol Adds Mustangs to Patrol Fleet
The agency said on Facebook that fielding the 25 new muscle cars continues a legacy of the Tarheel State’s troopers using Mustangs in the 1980s and early 1990s.

The agency said on Facebook that fielding the 25 new muscle cars continues a legacy of the Tarheel State’s troopers using Mustangs in the 1980s and early 1990s.
“The cost of these new vehicles is comparable to other vehicles currently deployed as part of the Patrol’s fleet, and the new addition will help to broaden the equipment and resources made available to troopers to effectively keep our roadways safe,” the NCHP said on Facebook.
The post also doubled as a recruiting ad, saying, “Drivers wanted! Learn more about careers with the State Highway Patrol at https://www.ncdps.gov/career.../state-highway-patrol-careers”
