A vehicle pursuit by Paterson, NJ, officers chasing a weapon and drug suspect ended with a burning police car and a damaged house, authorities said Sunday.
No major injuries were reported. The suspect was arrested.
The police vehicle caught fire, and the house's porch was damaged. Paterson Fire responded to extinguish the blaze.

A vehicle pursuit by Paterson, NJ, officers chasing a weapon and drug suspect ended with a burning police car and a damaged house, authorities said Sunday.
No major injuries were reported. The suspect was arrested.
The incident began just after 11 p.m. Saturday with a traffic stop of a gray Infiniti.
After the officer left his vehicle, driver Adriano Giordano, 24, of Bloomfield, put the car in drive and fled, police reported in a statement.
A host of on-duty detectives pursued Giordano. Giordano turned off his car’s headlights as he fled, the police statement said.
Police lost the vehicle. And Moments later, Giordano struck a police car and collided with a house, authorities said.
The police vehicle caught fire, and the house's porch was damaged. Paterson Fire responded to extinguish the blaze. Giordano’s car rested on its side on the sidewalk, NorthJersey.com reports.
Giordano was arrested on numerous weapon and drug possession charges. Police report finding heroin in the vehicle he was driving. A loaded handgun and marijuana was recovered from the suspect's jacket, police say.
