Edison (N.J.) Police officer Joseph Kenney has received $250,000 from the city to settle a harassment claim that arose after he rescued two men from a smoking auto wreck.
Officer Kenney, now 60, crawled into a vehicle that had flipped over to save two men on July 3, 2008. At some point Officer Kenney became wedged in the vehicle and radioed for help. He claimed Sgt. Glinsky responded to the scene, and declined to help him out of the vehicle because there were "dirty (expletive) Indians" in the car.
