Deputy Cailee Campbell was responding code 3 when she was hit by another vehicle at an intersection.
Deputy Campbell was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital, LocalSyr.com reports.
She worked in Onondaga County Corrections from May 2019 until January 2020. Then went to the Onondaga County Police Academy, where she worked as an Onondaga County Custody Deputy from May 2021 until April 2023 when she began working patrol for the Oswego County SO.
The other driver was injured but is expected to recover.
The crash is under investigation.
