The Doña Ana County (New Mexico) Sheriff’s Office reports that a 33-year-old deputy was killed in a crash while on duty Tuesday evening (July 8, 2025).
Deputy Antonio Aleman’s patrol vehicle collided with a semi-truck on Interstate 10 around 5 p.m. Tuesday evening. He died at a local hospital.
Deputy Aleman has been a valuable asset to the sheriff's office since April 2021 and will be dearly missed,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook statement.
The sheriff's office expressed its gratitude to the surrounding County Sheriff's Offices, Socorro, Sierra and Bernalillo, for their assistance in escorting Deputy Aleman through their respective jurisdictions.
