Nevada Officer Fires on Truck Accelerating Toward Him

An officer with the North Las Vegas Police Department discharged his service weapon at a pickup truck on Sunday afternoon as the vehicle was accelerating toward him.

According to the Las Vegas Sun , the officer—whose name has not yet been released—was attempting to stop the vehicle for speeding on an interstate highway when the driver drove at him.

The driver was not struck, and fled the scene. He was later stopped and taken into custody.
