Nebraska Officer Hospitalized After Narcotics Suspect Assaults Her

An officer with the Lincoln Police Department suffered a broken nose when a narcotics suspect reportedly elbowed her in the face as she tried to detain him.

According to KOLN Radio , officers were called to the scene of a man ingesting drugs, and upon arrival the man began to leave the area. An officer followed and attempted to take him into custody when he allegedly launched the assault.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital where she was treated and released.

The suspect was taken into custody but has not been identified because he won't tell police his name.

He faces charges of resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.
