Filmmaker Tigre Hill's documentary "The Barrel of a Gun," which covers Mumia Abu-Jamal's 1981 killing of Philadelphia officer Daniel Faulker, will be released Sept. 21, Philly.com reports.
The film tells the story of the shooting and the aftermath that brought the incident to worldwide attention using interviews with widow Maureen Faulkner, Ed Asner, and other participants.
Hill has been working on the film since 2006 and says he has uncovered new evidence showing the killing was premeditated.
General admission tickets to the screening will sell for $46.99 (a reference to Faulkner's badge number) and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Daniel Faulkner Educational Grant Fund, which provides educational grants to children whose parents were the victims of violent crimes.
