A Missouri Highway Patrol trooper survived a shot to the chest after his body armor absorbed a bank robber's round, reports KTVI .
The incident began at around 9:20 a.m. Friday when Warren Gladders, 64, walked into the First State Bank in Dutzow with a handgun and told tellers to give him the top layer of cash from their trays as well as the $50 and $100 bills in the vault.
