Missouri Officer Struck by Suspect in Fleeing Vehicle

An officer with the Cameron (MO) Police Department responding to a call of a suspect stealing goods from a local Walmart store was struck by that subject as he fled the parking lot.

According to a press release the agency posted on Facebook , the suspect backed up his vehicle, striking several cars in the lot before moving forward and striking the officer.

The suspect then led police on a lengthy pursuit which ended in the town of Wathena, KS, where the suspect was apprehended and arrested.

The officer struck by the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.
