Mississippi Deputy Struck and Killed by Vehicle at Safety Checkpoint

A deputy with the Monroe County (MS) Sheriff's Office was killed while conducting a safety checkpoint on Saturday night.

According to WCBI-TV , Deputy Dylan Pickle and Deputy Zach Wilbanks were transported to a nearby hospital where Pickle succumbed to his injuries.

Monroe remains hospitalized.

Deputy Pickle was a Mississippi National Guard veteran.
