Minnesota Police Shoot, Kill Reportedly Suicidal Knife-Wielding Man

Police in Stillwater (MN) responded to a call about a suicidal man wielding a knife in the very early morning hours on Wednesday, according to the Pioneer Press .

Officers from Stillwater, Bayport, and Oak Park Heights all responded to the incident, finding the man carrying the knife. One officer deployed a TASER, then another opened fire with a sidearm.

The man—who has not been immediately identified—was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officers involved in the incident have been placed on standard administrative leave.
