Mexican Police Apprehend Six In Killing of U.S. Border Agent
Mexican law enforcement working with the FBI apprehended six alleged smugglers who may be tied to the killing of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas, the San Diego News Network reports.
Mexican law enforcement working with the FBI apprehended six alleged smugglers who may be tied to the killing of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas, the San Diego News Network reports.
Ernesto Parra Valenzuela, 36, was identified as the shooter and remains in federal custody in Mexico.
Rosas, 30, was shot with a 9mm pistol while tracking the group of alleged coyotes. He became the first border agent killed in a shooting while on duty in a decade.
Bringing Valenzuela to the U.S. to face justice could be a challenge because Mexico, which has no death penalty, does not turn over murder suspects if prosecutors here are seeking their execution.
