Maryland Trooper Fatally Shoots Assailant who Stabbed Him

A law enforcement officer who was responding to reports of destruction of property was suddenly attacked and stabbed by an assailant on Monday morning.

According to the Baltimore Sun , the Maryland State Police Trooper fired on the knife-wielding man, fatally striking him.

The trooper—who has not been identified—was airlifted to a trauma center where he was treated and released.

Police identified the assailant as 34-year-old Michael D'Angelo.
