An officer who recently retired from the Syracuse (NY) Police Department passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.
According to Syracuse.com, Officer Ken Albro had worked as the SRO at Fowler High School before retiring and taking a job in the Chittenango school district.
Former and current students have posted hundreds of comments on social media saying that Albro was a great man, mentor, and role model.
The Syracuse Teachers Association said on Facebook, "Staff and students alike loved Officer Albro as an amazing person with a great heart and a friendly face."
Two officers were shot in Gainesville, Florida, by a man who police say was leaving an area where he had killed a man inside a business. The suspect exited his vehicle in what the chief termed an “ambush-style” attack.
