A convicted cop killer was sentenced to death by a San Antonio jury Friday afterternoon.
Otis McKane faces capital punishment for the murder of San Antonio Det. Benjamin Marconi in November 2016, KENS5 reports.

Otis McKane was facing either life in prison or the death penalty after being convicted in late July of killing Marconi outside police headquarters in downtown San Antonio nearly five years ago.

McKane was facing either life in prison or the death penalty after being convicted in late July of killing Marconi outside police headquarters in downtown San Antonio nearly five years ago.
Marconi was ambushed while writing a traffic ticket. McKane pulled up behind the officer in another vehicle then got out and murdered the officer, trial records show.
Marconi was a father of two and 20-year veteran of the force.
The Marconi family released a statement after the death sentence was delivered, thanking the district attorney, prosecuting team and jury. They also thanked the community who supported them in the more-than-four years since Benjamin's killing.
