San Diego police say a man was shot Sunday after asking for help at San Diego Harbor Police headquarters, getting an officer to come to his assistance, and then presenting a gun.
SDPD, which is investigating the incident, says the man walked into police headquarters and used a call box located inside police headquarters to request for citizen assistance early Sunday afternoon, CBS 8 reports.

The man then walked back to his grey Honda Civic. When Harbor Police officers approached the man, police say he presented a gun.
Police responded by firing at the man, shooting him. A total of three officers were involved in the incident. It's unknown how many rounds were fired. According to police, no officers were hit by bullets or injured.
The man was taken into custody and police began providing medical aid. The man was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition, according to SDPD.
