Man Sentenced to 2 Life Terms Plus 835 Years in Murder of Arkansas Officer

A man convicted of murdering an off-duty Arkansas officer has been sentenced to two life terms plus 835 years in prison. 

According to Fox News , the man—identified as 27-year-old Demarcus Donnell Parker—was convicted of first-degree murder earlier this week by a Crittenden County jury.

He was also convicted of illegally shooting a weapon from a vehicle as well as 21 other charges in the April 2018 shooting death of Officer Oliver Johnson of the Forrest City Police Department.

Prosecutors have said Parker was shooting at rival gang members outside Johnson's home in West Memphis when the officer was struck by a stray bullet.
