Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder of Colorado Officer

A man accused of dragging an officer with the Colorado State University Police Department pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder in court proceedings on Wednesday and was sentenced to 16 years in jail followed by five years of parole.

According to the Coloradoan , the man—identified as 23-year-old Dominic Jackson—has been credited with just over 800 days of time already served since the time of his arrest in 2017.

During the incident, Officer Mike Lohman was halfway in the car Jackson was driving as he sped away from a traffic stop. Jackson drove about a block before crashing the car into a residence.

Lohman suffered several injuries, including cuts, bruises, and a concussion.
