Police in Southern California were involved in a bizarre six-hour slow-speed chase with a man who was believed to be armed with a gun on Tuesday night.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the chase started at roughly 7 p.m. after officers received a report of a man with a gun.
The suspect - who has not been identified - had been stopped for a traffic stop and refused to get out of his vehicle, speeding away from authorities.
LAPD Sgt. Juan Garcia noted that the chase was unusually long, adding that many of the responding officers had to pull off and use their own money to get gas. He added that the driver - riding in a Chevy Malibu - had a full tank of gas.

The driver was arrested for felony evading but had two outstanding warrants for burglary charges, police said.
