Man Indicted for Assault on Female Ohio Police Officer

A 57-year-old man was indicted Monday for a violent attack on a North Royalton, OH, police officer in August.

According to police, John Pugnea assaulted 28-year-old Alexandra Bell after Bell had responded to reports of a man driving erratically and making threats to another driver,  NBC News  reports.

As bell was attempting to question Pugnea, he reportedly pushed her to the ground, punched her repeatedly, and threatened to kill her.

Pugnea faces charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, assault, and aggravated menacing.
