Man Accused of Punching Houston Officer During Chase

A man is accused of punching a Houston police officer after a chase early Wednesday morning, reports KPRC .

Officers say a patrol unit tried to pull over a car for traffic violations on South Kirkwood Road around 1:30 a.m. The driver refused to stop and led officers on a chase to Spring Grove Drive, where the vehicle hit a curb and eventually came to a stop. According to police, the two men in the car jumped out and ran away.

Both were eventually captured by police, but officers say one of the men actually punched an officer twice.

The officer was treated at the scene, and investigators say both men were arrested.
