According to ABC News, Officer Joel Cummings' home burned down early Wednesday
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the blaze. Citizens have begun to collect donations to help support the family in their time of need.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The town is now accepting donations to help the family. Donations can be left in the drop box at the Skowhegan Municipal Building Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or mailed to:
