Louisiana Officer Attacked by Owl, Crashes Patrol Car

A police officer in Covington, LA, crashed his patrol car on Christmas Eve after being attacked by an owl.

“As I was exiting the subdivision, going about 10 miles an hour, suddenly I felt something hit the left side of my face,” Officer Lance Benjamin said. “So I’m thinking, okay, maybe it was a football or something. And then I felt some scratching on the back of my head and some pecking.”

Benjamin ended up driving into a ditch and narrowly missing a line of trees.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, the owl flew away through the passenger window after the accident, and there was only minor damage to Benjamin’s cruiser, WREG TV reports.
