Louisiana Motor Officer Dies of Injuries Sustained During Funeral Escort Duty

The Slidell (LA) Police Department posted to Facebook news that Motor Officer Jason Seals has succumbed to injuries sustained in late September while participating in funeral escort duty.
A vehicle had unexpectedly pulled out in front of Seals, causing him to strike the vehicle, seriously injuring Seals. He was transported to a nearby hospital
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal said in the Facebook post, "Jason was a model officer who was beloved by his family, his fellow officers, and the citizens of our community. We are broken, but we are focused on providing prayers and support to Jason’s family. He left behind a loving wife, three kids, and many others who loved him dearly. This is going to be a very difficult time for our Slidell Police family."
The post continued, "The outpouring of support we have received from our citizens throughout this tragedy has been amazing. We ask that you continue to pray for Jason’s family and his fellow officers."
